So, we now live in Omaha and it's slowly beginning to feel like home... we still have boxes galore, but as they are gradually unpacked and more of "us" take over the house is at least beginning to feel like "ours." We have decided that we are definitely not going to become Nebraskans... but I could be okay with being called an Omahanian (or something to that effect). I recently found out that the fall sports for girls include golf, volleyball, and softball... guess I'd better start lobbying now for a change - why on earth would they overlap these three sports? Not cool. Okay, enough on that since it really doesn't or won't affect us for the next 14 yeras or so!
On to the girls... they continue to grow (always good) and learn new tricks faster than we can keep up with. No, I do not know how much they weigh at the moment, but we'll try to step on a scale with them this weekend and check it out....
RYANN
She appears laid back, but what you don't realize is that she is an astute observer who then capitalizes on her observations... for instance, by suddenly rolling over (back to tummy) or by army crawling 4 feet across the room. We're going to have to keep a closer eye on this one! She is still our happy baby - her temper still flares now and again, but for the most part she's a pretty happy and content little girl. Ry is super entertained by both her sisters and the doggies!BRYNLEY
We always think of her as our happy-go-lucky little girl, but she's had a tough week this week... not sure if it's teeth or the adjustment back to home (less people to entertain her) or exactly what's going on, but she's not quite up to par this week. The last couple days she has decided that napping longer than 30 minutes is for the birds... however she is currently in her crib asleep - so shhhhhhh! We thought Bryn would be our first little mover, she's been up on all fours for a couple weeks now, however she's still scooting backwards! We know it's just a matter of time... She's still our best eater - doesn't seem to matter what we feed her, she likes it all!HADLEY
Miss Hadley has been a stitch as of late... she loves the jumparoo and can entertain herself for quite awhile in it. She also loves being scared (unlike Brynley) and giggles hysterically every time - entertaining both her and us. This week she's taken note of Brynley's moves and is also up on all fours scooting backwards - she actually goes forward every 6th scoot or so. Let's just say we are in TROUBLE! Hadley definitely knows what she wants when she wants it... we had prunes on Thursday and surprisingly (?) everyone liked them. However, yesterday (Friday) we go to have our prunes and she put up quite the fuss - so she had green beans instead... today, back to prunes! Sometimes it's just not worth the fight!Travis and I have been on our own with the girls since we got back to Omaha late Monday night... Tuesday was a mess - the girls had a very rough day! I suppose it was a bit of an adjustment to come back home and not have people around to entertain them! However things got back to [our] normal on Wednesday and we've gotten into a pretty good routine. Gama is coming for a visit on Sunday and we're looking forward to having that third set of hands once again. To be honest, it hasn't been so horrible - but we haven't had a lot of extra time to unpack!
In other news - Travis accepted a position at NatureWorks - a subsidiary of Cargill - and begins on the 15th! I also begin some university things on the 15th so things are going to get crazy(ier) fast! We are in the process of looking for a nanny - we decided it would be much easier to have someone come to our house than trying to load up three little girls every morning! We've found a couple nice walking trails near our house - it's nice to get out of the house! The girls have also taken turns running errands with me... we find it much easier to handle 2 on 1 than 3 on 1! The girls seem to enjoy getting out and people watching - Ryann was cracking up while we were in Lowes earlier today (not sure why).
We so enjoyed our trip back to Iowa - though I can't believe how quickly it went by... we're so thankful to be closer to family and friends. The Cader was another success - it's amazing to have such support in his memory. The girls also got to meet a bunch of their second cousins at our Christmas in July... such a great time to see my cousins and catch up - all while watching the 24(!) little kids get acquainted! Okay... enough for now. I'll post some pictures later - we got our wireless working TODAY!
