Happy Monday!

The girls continue to entertain us on a daily basis. Below Hadley is working on her plan position...
 Such good form!
 Brynley's ready to take off!
 Hadley loves her Tehya-dog!
Ryann - looking pretty spiffy... such a sweetie pie
I really haven't bought too many impractical things for the girls... but these skirts might be one of those purchases! However, I must admit they are super cute! Daddy had the girls cracking up...

This picture makes us smile, hope it does the same for you!

Yummers - homemade baby food...

Zucchini and cauliflower were somewhat of a hit with the girls... Brynley still seems to like all food. Ryann takes a day to warm up to something - but ate a full container of cauliflower today (day #2). Hadley is a bit bipolar - one day she likes it, the next maybe not, and then maybe she likes it again!
Last weekend Gama and mom spent a few hours each day making up a bunch of baby food - we have squash, sweet potatoes, zucchini, cauliflower, apples, peaches, pears, raspberries, carrots, broccoli and peas! The girls shouldn't go hungry for awhile - although I think I'm going to have to do some more peaches and apples up this weekend! It was our first go around so we really had no idea how much baby food would be made out of say, four apples. Turns out - not so much... well, that's not exactly true - let me amend that to say not so much when you're feeding triplets!
The girls started having three meals a day this week and have really taken to it... They have oatmeal in the morning and either a bottle before or after (depends on what time they got up in the middle of the night and how much they ate then). Then they have a veggie and fruit for lunch - today Ryann ate an entire container of cauliflower and almost an entire container of peaches all herself, guess she was hungry?! They have a small bottle after lunch. Then they've been doing a pretty good job taking a longer nap in the afternoon and they have a bottle upon waking. Then they have some cereal and either a fruit or veggie for dinner... then it's [finally] bedtime. We do kicktime, baths, a bottle, a story, and bed. Whew - full days to say the least! However keeping to this new schedule has seemed to work out okay - we'll see how it goes.
We're interviewing our first nanny tomorrow - would be so nice to get something figured out sooner rather than later....

QT with Daddy and a trip to the zoo!

Though it's taken awhile, we are finally getting settled in our new home! We even have some pictures up - which always makes it seem more cozy and lived-in. Gama returned last Sunday - she missed her girls - and with her here we've really been able to get things unpacked and put away. It's exciting to have more than 5 shirts to pick from now that our suitcases are unpacked and clothes are hung up! Good timing too since Trav and I both start our new jobs next week... and no, we have not yet found a nanny - more on that in a bit.
Trav has been enjoying some extra quality time with his girls this week - I think the hardest part of his new job is it being 30 miles away, he won't be able to come home for lunch and play with the girls. He'll also most likely be gone in the morning before they get up - meaning the only time he'll have with them (aside from weekends) is in the evening time for an hour or so before they go to bed. We realize that's much more "normal" - but no fun all the same. So... he's really enjoyed playing with the kiddos this week - for the most part! ha!
We even managed a trip to the zoo! Grandpa got back from his trip to Argentina on Wednesday and came over to see his girls (including mom and me) for a couple days. While he was here we decided an outing to the zoo was in order! The girls' first trip to the zoo was successful - we were there for a little over two hours and even had a bottle picnic! I think next summer might be more fun for them, but it was nice to get out for awhile and the zoo is really nice.
As for the girls this week - they seem so much bigger than there were just a couple weeks ago... must be all the food they're eating! We've finished all the 1st Gerber foods and today Gama cooked up a bunch of our own baby food! The girls will get to try zucchini, cauliflower, and broccoli in the days to come. I have to admit, the homemade food is actually pretty tasty - I stole some of the girls' carrots while feeding them lunch! Yummers! We've ordered a couple baby gates and have started covering the outlets - it's just a matter of time til they're really on the move. None of them stay where you put them these days... although none are technically crawling yet!
Now for a quick update on the nanny search... We've officially started our search and are already not enjoying the process. We'd love to find someone who knows someone, but so far, no luck. We're hoping to make more progress this next week - I've contacted a couple individuals for some interviews so we'll see what comes of it... I did ask Ashley to move to Omaha so she could watch the girls - but I don't think she went for it. Anyway - hopefully more to report next time. Below are some pictures from the week!

Our trio: 7 Months

Um, whoops - how did I get so far behind? I could blame it on lack of time, the babies, the fact that we still don't have our wireless internet figured out, or that we were in Iowa for a week and a half, but honestly I just kept forgetting when I was at the computer... so here I sit, about three or four weeks behind from the last time I updated this blog and it seems so much has happened, so much has changed that I just don't know where to start. Not to mention - I really don't have time to write a book!
So, we now live in Omaha and it's slowly beginning to feel like home... we still have boxes galore, but as they are gradually unpacked and more of "us" take over the house is at least beginning to feel like "ours." We have decided that we are definitely not going to become Nebraskans... but I could be okay with being called an Omahanian (or something to that effect). I recently found out that the fall sports for girls include golf, volleyball, and softball... guess I'd better start lobbying now for a change - why on earth would they overlap these three sports? Not cool. Okay, enough on that since it really doesn't or won't affect us for the next 14 yeras or so!
On to the girls... they continue to grow (always good) and learn new tricks faster than we can keep up with. No, I do not know how much they weigh at the moment, but we'll try to step on a scale with them this weekend and check it out....
RYANN
She appears laid back, but what you don't realize is that she is an astute observer who then capitalizes on her observations... for instance, by suddenly rolling over (back to tummy) or by army crawling 4 feet across the room. We're going to have to keep a closer eye on this one! She is still our happy baby - her temper still flares now and again, but for the most part she's a pretty happy and content little girl. Ry is super entertained by both her sisters and the doggies!
BRYNLEY
We always think of her as our happy-go-lucky little girl, but she's had a tough week this week... not sure if it's teeth or the adjustment back to home (less people to entertain her) or exactly what's going on, but she's not quite up to par this week. The last couple days she has decided that napping longer than 30 minutes is for the birds... however she is currently in her crib asleep - so shhhhhhh! We thought Bryn would be our first little mover, she's been up on all fours for a couple weeks now, however she's still scooting backwards! We know it's just a matter of time... She's still our best eater - doesn't seem to matter what we feed her, she likes it all!
HADLEY
Miss Hadley has been a stitch as of late... she loves the jumparoo and can entertain herself for quite awhile in it. She also loves being scared (unlike Brynley) and giggles hysterically every time - entertaining both her and us. This week she's taken note of Brynley's moves and is also up on all fours scooting backwards - she actually goes forward every 6th scoot or so. Let's just say we are in TROUBLE! Hadley definitely knows what she wants when she wants it... we had prunes on Thursday and surprisingly (?) everyone liked them. However, yesterday (Friday) we go to have our prunes and she put up quite the fuss - so she had green beans instead... today, back to prunes! Sometimes it's just not worth the fight!
Travis and I have been on our own with the girls since we got back to Omaha late Monday night... Tuesday was a mess - the girls had a very rough day! I suppose it was a bit of an adjustment to come back home and not have people around to entertain them! However things got back to [our] normal on Wednesday and we've gotten into a pretty good routine. Gama is coming for a visit on Sunday and we're looking forward to having that third set of hands once again. To be honest, it hasn't been so horrible - but we haven't had a lot of extra time to unpack!
In other news - Travis accepted a position at NatureWorks - a subsidiary of Cargill - and begins on the 15th! I also begin some university things on the 15th so things are going to get crazy(ier) fast! We are in the process of looking for a nanny - we decided it would be much easier to have someone come to our house than trying to load up three little girls every morning! We've found a couple nice walking trails near our house - it's nice to get out of the house! The girls have also taken turns running errands with me... we find it much easier to handle 2 on 1 than 3 on 1! The girls seem to enjoy getting out and people watching - Ryann was cracking up while we were in Lowes earlier today (not sure why).
We so enjoyed our trip back to Iowa - though I can't believe how quickly it went by... we're so thankful to be closer to family and friends. The Cader was another success - it's amazing to have such support in his memory. The girls also got to meet a bunch of their second cousins at our Christmas in July... such a great time to see my cousins and catch up - all while watching the 24(!) little kids get acquainted! Okay... enough for now. I'll post some pictures later - we got our wireless working TODAY!
