How can moving day possibly be tomorrow? There's still so much to do, yet it'll get done... I said goodbye to one of my good friends down here yesterday - that's when it hit home: we're really truly moving. Despite the fact that we've know this day would be coming since NOVEMBER, somehow it doesn't seem possible that it's arrived. The girls (both human and canine) are trying to figure out what's going on with all the boxes and disarray. I've about had all I can handle with the chaos - I do not thrive in disarray. I can handle chaos if it's organized chaos, but currently - it's definitely not organized in any shape or fashion!
Anyway... the girls were on Day 2 of peas and enjoyed them much more today than yesterday. Well, that's not quite true - Brynley enjoyed them both days, and Ryann was actually awake to try them out today (she was nodding off while trying to eat yesterday). I think I'm already beginning to see a trend - Brynley appears to like anything we throw at her while Hadley needs a couple days. As for Ryann - it all depends on how feisty she's feeling!
Hadley rolled from her back to her front today... watch out world, it's just a matter of time. Brynley is not scooting backwards - which I've been told is a prelude to full out scooting/army crawling. Ryann listened to the doctor and is now past blowing raspberries and has moved on to "pthhhhhh-ing" on a constant basis, all while spitting/drooling. We're looking forward to seeing Grandma's expression when she see's her girls tomorrow night up in Kansas City. They've done some serious growing in the last three weeks! Guess this will be the last post I write while in Texas... as excited as I am about the move, I can't help but be sad to say goodbye.

Sleep decline, First veggie success
Somehow we're going backwards in the sleep department and I cannot figure out why... they're eating more, they're playing more, and yet they're sleeping less??? what the heck?! Let's just say the last few nights haven't been anything to write home about - unless you're writing home to complain. Even Ryann has been getting up - seriously, what has happened to my girls? This morning I told mom that I wanted to trade them in for my girls 3 weeks ago... but maybe tonight will be better?
Big news on the food front - the girls have successfully completed their first veggie: sweet potatoes were a success! While Brynley loved her some sweet potatoes, Hadley's reaction was quite different. She made the "ick" face the whole time the first day she tried it - definitely not a fan. However, day 2 was a vast improvement and day 3 they all gobbled the entire 2 ounces (or something like that) up. For this week we're using store bought veggies... too difficult with the packing/moving process to try our hand at making our own. I'm thinking we'll move on to squash next, but perhaps we should do peas to diversify their color palette? It's something I'm sure they're super concerned about... ha!
The girls went to their developmental pediatric appointment on Friday afternoon and their doctor was extremely pleased with how well they are doing! I could go into (a lot of) details, but basically she confirmed what we already knew... developmentally they are past 4 months (their adjusted age), but not yet to the 6 month mark (their actual age). She was especially amazed at Brynley and her "core strength"... it was an interesting appointment and I'm hoping that we can find something similar in Omaha (though we were told it's unlikely).
Gama and I have survived the last two nights and days without daddy, but are certainly looking forward to his return this evening! Can't believe moving week has arrived... better get back to packing!

6 Months! Packing up and moving out...
Our girls are SIX MONTHS old already! They are growing fast all while entertaining and wearing us out all at the same time. It's been a long, long week - thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. Between [trying to] packing up and Travis working late this week Gama and I are at our wits end... the girls have been more than a little ornery - I think the heat is getting to them as well! Or it could be the daily hurried pick-ups and quick out-the-doors we do for the house showings - makes it hard to stick to routine! And in all honesty, the girls are really quite good and so much fun. It's just by the end of the day, we're all tired of one another!
We had their 6-month check-up today - and the girls are doing fabulously! They're all on the growth charts in all the different categories. Ryann is still the biggest weighing 13 pounds 8 ounces, Brynley weighed 12 pounds 12 ounces, and Hadley got Bryn by an ounce weighing 12 pounds 13 ounces. They've each gained right about 10 pounds since they were born, hard to believe how tiny they were not that long ago... We get to start introducing new foods into the girls' diet - we've decided to start with sweet potatoes (dad's choice), guess we'll see how that goes.
We celebrated the 4th by spending a few hours with our neighbors - the girls got to go for a swim and socialize for a bit which wore them out. We need to start socializing more often! Other than that, our days continue to fly by. The big move is just a week away and while there's still lots to be done, we are so excited to get moved and settled in - living in transition and with boxes is not my cup of tea. Happy [belated] 4th of July!
