Bye bye June

June is just about gone and the girls definitely learned some new tricks this month! The latest - and scariest - is that they're all trying to army crawl/scoot while on their bellies... don't you just wish you could pick which developmental items your baby learned first? I'd put the whole mobility thing on hold and concentrate on hand/eye coordination - specifically, holding on to a bottle and feeding oneself! Not that I don't [sometimes] enjoy snuggling the girls and giving them their bottle - sometimes it is quite nice. But when you have 15-18 bottles to do that with in one day, well, to be honest it can get a little tiresome. Especially with their new spitting skills - I'm not sure if that counts as a trick, and for Ryann it's definitely not something new, but they're all becoming master spitters. In other words - if you're coming to visit, bring an extra change of clothes (or 2), you're bound to get hit at some point!
The girls are all enjoying playing with toys - so fun to see which ones they hone in on and play with. Of course almost everything goes straight to their mouth, or is examined first to figure out which way it would fit best into their mouth... but all in all, still good fun.
We've heard belly laughs from all three girls - though not at the same time... yet. Ryann is still the easiest to make laugh - the other night she laughed for a good 20 minutes at anything and everything I did... and I'm not that funny. Daddy really gets the girls going - love to hear them giggling together... wait, Travis wouldn't like me to say giggling together - rather, laughing together!
We're beginning to pack up the house - and are trying to finalize our moving plans/dates... the logistics of getting all of us and our stuff from here to Omaha is somewhat interesting. Nonetheless, we'll be in Omaha in a couple weeks - so excited to be closer to family and friends! This is going to be a big month for the girls - hitting the 6-month mark, meeting lots of new friends and family... super exciting stuff!

Slow Down There Time!

Seriously, where do the days go? I realize I say this a lot and I'm not saying that some days don't feel like they last forever (sometimes they do), but when we get to a weekend and I sit trying to figure out what happened to the past week! Therefore, please slow down Time!
Our girls have had a great month thus far - and I'm currently trying to decide whether they really do change so much so quickly, OR if because there are three of them I just forget who looks like what when... if that makes sense. Anyway, Grandma Miles was here helping out the first three weeks of June and she swore their hair got thicker by the day - NOT that you can see it in pictures, it's white-blonde and visible only in person or in the sunlight (I swear - I am not making this up). They've also gotten bigger, louder, and fun-ner! Hadley kicked off the "finding her voice" and now they all chime in - if you're planning on visiting you might want to bring some ear plugs! Some highlights of the past few weeks are below - I try to keep it short, but found I tend to ramble on and on and on... what's that I was saying? Oh yes, keep it breezy.
   RYANN GALE
We've learned that Ryann has a little temper, and by little I mean a major horrible temper. Everything these days must go to her mouth, and if it does not fit into her mouth the way she would like, or if she cannot get it to her mouth all he$$ breaks loose. Grandma spent the last couple weeks either taking toys away (yep already) or moving Ryann away from the situation. Case in point - she starts her day out on the play may surrounded by fun toys, she smiles laughs and bats at the toys... ten minutes later, she is desperately trying to get the monkey's foot into her mouth to no avail, another five minutes and she starts screaming at the monkey (pretty sure she thinks she's asking it nicely to GET INTO HER MOUTH)... at this point mom goes to see Rita, when she comes out Ryann is alone on the tummy time mat with no toys in sight and a lovie in her mouth - happy and QUIET!
I find it amusing and tiresome at the same time - the girl knows what she wants. I believe I predicted this long before, the girl is independent and strong - this does not bode well for the next few years... Anyway, Ryann can roll from her tummy to her back - when she feels like it (they all are quite selective about this trick). She likes her tummy much more now than she did a few weeks ago - her neck must be getting stronger and her head is no longer twice the size of the rest of her body! ha! She is a laughing machine - daddy can especially make the girl scream with laughter. Yesterday Travis got home from his trip up to KC and the girls were all excited to see him - I think Ryann spent a good 20 minutes or so laughing with her daddy... Ryann also loves to hear her voice - as well as her sisters. When Hadley or Brynley are 'talking' Ryann just stares... it's like she's trying to figure out why there's another baby and what she is doing at her house. Ryann is still the biggest of the three - but Brynley and Hadley are catching up!
BRYNLEY CADE
My sweet sweet Brynley... her little smile brightens anyone and everyone's day! This little squirt can also roll (tummy to back) when she feels like it - HOWEVER, she spends most of her tummy time trying to army crawl... not good. Well - good from a developmental viewpoint, not-so-good when you're the mommy terrified about three little mobile peanuts! We've decided she's our laid-back child - she's pretty content to play by herself for hours, then, when she gets tired, she takes a nap - I know, novel concept (and one Ryann and Hadley haven't quite mastered yet).
Brynley tends to get a little distracted - she want's to see everything all at once... we can already hear her teachers saying "Brynley - pay attention to what we're doing up here...' In other words, she might take after her uncle in more ways than her looks! I pulled out a scrapbook album of Cade that my cousin made and let's just say it was a little scary seeing the resemblance of Brynley and Hadley to Cade - I might just have to post a picture one of these days... Anyway, she absolutely loves Baby Signing Time - no, she cannot yet sign, but she sure does love the video and we're learning so much!
HADLEY MARIE
Hadley was the first one to really find her voice - and boy does she like to use it. This child is LOUD... is it wrong that I miss her sweet quiet indoor voice? She still sometimes uses it, but more and more often it's the loud version... I think she takes after the Pleggenkuhle side - our house is going to be very loud for the foreseeable future. Hadley's also our serious and sensitive little lady - she studies things before smiling. But once she starts that shy smile you're a goner... such a sweetie! She missed both mom and dad this past weekend. On Sunday night Gama was feeding her when she suddenly threw a fit... didn't calm down until mom took her (I had been gone since Friday). Then when dad got home as he walked away from her she started crying... and then stopped when he came back! She's a little young for that stage which makes us think she's a little on the sensitive side (can we say, hello Aunt Bre?!)
While she liked to kick before, Hadley's feet have become deadly weapons... she loves to bring them both down at the same time to see how hard she can kick the bed - or Brynley's head, side, legs... Why is it the two sharing the crib are the wiggliest girls?! We put Ryann down and there she stays until morning (hard sleeper). However, both Hadley and Brynley practice their spin moves while sleeping - we never know exactly how we're going to find them when they wake up! We're looking forward to getting that third crib up in Omaha! Hadley loves kick time (the girls spend some time kicking in their rooms every night before their nighttime bottle/routine) and to kick in the tub... she's becoming a fan of the jumparoo as well - actually they all are for that matter!
   MOM & DAD
A quick update on us... This past weekend was my first time away from the girls since they've been home... crazy that I missed them as much as I did! Luckily I got to spend some time with Jackson (future son-in-law material) while I was in KC! The girls did just fine without mom and dad home - it was man-on-man with Grandma, Papa, and Gama here taking care of them! Travis had an extended trip - he had another interview up in Omaha on Monday, so he didn't get home until late Monday night... he missed his girls! They were all smiles for him Tuesday morning and night! He left again last night for his annual golf outing with his dad - we were sure to give him a hard time about leaving.. payback time is just around the corner!
Things are slowly getting packed up, and we're getting estimates for the move up to Omaha that is just around the corner. To be redundant - where does the time go?! I've posted a few pictures below from the past few weeks - more are posted on our website.

June - 5 Months!

How is it possible that our babies are 5-months old?! It's like we blinked and the hospital and first few months were just a blur. I have to admit, I've fallen completely and utterly in love with our girls and their individual personalities that are slowly emerging. They are so entertaining on a day-to-day basis - frustrating at times, but always entertaining. To sum up - I am a huge fan of 5 months!
Ryann started 'talking' (cooing, etc.) yesterday and today she told us so many stories. It's funny, she's been laughing for well over a month now, but while Hadley and Brynley would 'talk' to us, she would grunt, but not really every 'talk'. Then yesterday, bam, she found her voice! On the other hand, Hadley and Brynley have been 'talking' for a couple months now, but still only giggle every once in awhile. They're both on the verge of the full-out belly laugh and we can't wait! Tonight during their bedtime bottle all three of the girls were 'talking' to us - I have a feeling things are going to be getting even crazier as they continue to develop. The girls are all starting to roll (front to back only) on a more regular basis - this scares me as I don't even want to think about when they're fully mobile.
Hadley absolutely LOVES to sit up, it's really quite amusing. We'll prop her up on the couch and she'll stay there for 30+ minutes, just looking around checking things out. She's the serious one of the bunch, our observer. Her sly smile just lights up her face.
Like her daddy - already ready for some football! so happy and ready for her bedtime bottle!
So serious... she studies things before grinning!
Brynley has a quick smile and is too curious for her own good. Anything and everything attracts that girls attention - but it's hard to get mad, her smile is infectious! She still LOVES her fish swing! The girl could sit in it all day and be happy as a clam. I swear she's given the evil eye to her sisters when they have a turn in "her" swing. We're thinking she might be the most laid back of them all. Despite all her energy she is really pretty content most of the time and can entertain herself for hours (last night she sang herself back to sleep).
Ready for our walk - she just smiles when we put her in her carseat
Fascinated by the Softball College World Series - she watched  and watched...
Ryann smiles and laughs most of the day. However, we've recently learned she has a TEMPER! This really doesn't come as too much of a shock for those who had to change/feed her in the middle of the night when all she wanted to do was eat and go back to sleep (boy was she loud). Now she's fine about the diaper changes and whatnot, instead she loses her temper when she can't get a toy to or into her mouth. Honestly, I find it quite amusing - I doubt she appreciates my amusement.
At any rate - the pictures don't do these kiddos justice... they're getting to be so much fun and we are excited to share them with more visitors this summer!
Smiley girl!
In the jumparoo - she had a staring contest with the from... What can we say, the girl loves frogs.
Some additional pictures of the girls...
They're BOTH smiling! Hard to catch that on camera, gotta be quick and Grandma was!
Hadley and Brynley love reaching out and touching Ryann... Ryann, not so enthused.
Grandma holding a story time session...
Ryann listening intently as well
Both Brynley and Hadley were watching the softball games
Story time with Mom - it must have been one funny story!

First Road Trip!

And the fun begins... we enjoyed our first big family outing last weekend! Last Thursday evening we left Texas and headed to Rolla, Missouri to spend Memorial Day weekend with family and friends. For all of you out there waiting to hear about the horrors of the trip - I'm sorry to report that all went well! The girls were so good - I think the trip was harder on Mom and Dad than it was on them!
We left at 6:42 (yep - looked at the clock as we pulled away) and rolled into Rolla around 3:50 AM Friday morning. We stopped a total of three times. Let's just say we cannot fool Hadley's internal time clock - right about 8:30 she started fussing, ready for her last bottle and bed. She worked herself into a full-board scream by 9:00 when we stopped in McAlester, OK to feed the girls, feed us, and filled up the tank. Surprisingly, the other two stayed sleeping the entire time we fed Hadley, picked up some fast food, and filled the tank. So onward we went... About an hour and a half later Brynley and Ryann were ready to eat, so we pulled into a McDonald's parking lot and fed them. They ate quickly, burped nicely (big surprise there), got back into their carseats and off we went. I sat in the back with them ready for any and all spit-ups - however, they quickly fell back asleep so up I climbed back to the front. We stopped one other time for gas and that was that. The next thing we heard out of the girls was when we rolled into Rolla. Unloading them and the car - the girls were a little overstimulated... They got a bottle, played for a bit and fell asleep... we crawled into bed about 5:30 and got a couple hours of sleep before getting up - we had pictures of the girls scheduled at 8:30 Friday morning!
The pictures went pretty well... Ryann was such a little ham and such a little poser! The photographer - Lindsay Pantaleo - got some wonderful pictures of her sweet little smile! We'll share them once we get them! For whatever reason, Brynley and Hadley were not having a good morning... they were so somber in all their pictures, but still cute (and of course we're not biased)! We even got a family picture - yep, still look tired! After pictures the girls got to go to school - they met all of Grandma's friends! Then it was back home to eat and take a LONG nap!
On Saturday more family came to Rolla - Aunt Mary Jo, Uncle Jim, cousins Jon and Deena and her daughter Claire, as well as Uncle Greg and Aunt Amy and cousins Margaret and Katie! Definitely a fun-filled day... and boy were the girls tuckered that evening! On Sunday my cousin who lives in St. Louis - Emily - and her family came down to visit. They spent a few hours with us and it was a beautiful day out - the girls enjoyed some fresh air... they were tired that afternoon and evening as well! Dad and Papa escaped that afternoon for a quick round of golf and I actually started a book - pretty relaxing weekend! Sure helps when there's extra hands around. Monday came way too fast, but we made the most of our day... Travis and Papa went out and played 18 holes in the morning, the dogs got a few more runs in (and washed off in the pool), and the girls had their FIRST SWIM! The pool had warmed up and it was gorgeous out so each of the girls had a turn getting dipped into the pool with dad and grandma. We then packed up and headed south about 3:15... we only had one stop (way to go girls) on the way back - much more efficient with three people! Grandma rode back with us, so when the girls decided it was time to eat we each took a baby and a bottle! We got home about 11:30... can't complain about that! Even better - the girls ate when we got home and went to bed! I think they were tired out by their first road trip... and were very happy to be at home in their own beds! Below are some pictures from our weekend!
